Holy shit, y’all. I did it. We did it. It’s done did!
Settling Is Bullshit is officially a podcast – alive and well, available anywhere you listen to podcasts.
And I am so freaking stoked that I woke up at 3:00 am, buzzing with enthusiasm. Not stress, not anxiety, just pure enthusiastic joy that I get to share this with you – which is a radical bit of growth.
It feels super weird to say this publicly and in writing, but I’m super fucking proud of myself. I’m proud of what I’ve produced, proud of how much effort I put into it, and really, deeply proud of giving myself permission to do it imperfectly.
Without that permission, it never would’ve happened. And that permission has been hard won.
When I started this blog, I sent the link to like ten or fifteen people. Sharing my creative work was so incredibly vulnerable, and I had to ease my way into it really gradually. I’d written a handful of posts before I shared anything on Instagram, and it took me four months before I shared it on facebook – you know, where my extended family and former colleagues would see it. And let’s not even talk about LinkedIn! (I still have a somewhat tenuous relationship with sharing this on LinkedIn given that, ya know, there’s swearing in the title. But I’m gonna post this shit there, too!)
So, here we are, 16 months since this journey officially began (11/10/2022), and I am shooting this podcast off like a confetti cannon – blasting it to every corner of the internet, and feeling fucking great about it!
How’s about them personal growth apples?
About the Podcast
I’m going to keep this short (for me) since I’m sleep-deprived and have a lot to do today, so here is the rundown on what to expect.
The podcast is a mix of solo episodes (20-30 mins) and interviews with awesome humans (40-60 mins). I’ll also be uploading recordings of blog posts (6-12 mins), though they will be on a separate publishing schedule.
I’m launching with two solo episodes posted: “Whatever It Is, Just Fucking Start (Podcast Edition),” and “Comparison Is the Thief of Joy.” The comparison episode is the real debut/my favorite, and I hope you’ll give it a listen.
I also recorded 16 of my favorite blog posts, which are all available for your listening enjoyment. (It was so hard to choose, but I recognized last week that I was going to have a complete meltdown if I tried to get them all recorded before launching).
Episodes will drop weekly – probably on Wednesdays on the platforms and then Thursdays in your inbox/on here (so that I have the links, etc).
I’ll continue to write and post to the blog – writing is my first love, after all. But there will now be a recording of each post, and I’ll probably also add episode transcripts as posts, so you’ll definitely be hearing from me more often.
Please bear with me over the coming weeks as I figure this shit out – things may get a bit messy, and you may end up with more email notifications than is your ideal.
A Request (or Two)
All that being said, please, please, please… take a few minutes to listen to an episode and then (if you like it) leave a 5-star review. It will really help the show to gain visibility on the various platforms.
And, please, please share this stuff. If you get something out of an episode or a post (now or any time in the future), please share it with the people you know – either directly or on your social.
Word-of-mouth is the most effective way for me to grow my audience and thereby my business. I’m creating content for free and want to keep it that way, but this is also a vital part of my livelihood (one-on-one coaching and eventually online courses, workshops, a book, etc).
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Without you, this wouldn’t be anywhere near as fun or meaningful or rewarding. 💜
Links!
One of the annoying things about sharing a podcast is that we all listen to podcasts in different places – and each place has its own link.
So! Here they are – the most likely ones, anyway. (I’ve never even heard of Deezer or Listen Notes!)
